walk start line.jpg

Hundreds gathered at Crocheron Park in Bayside on Sunday, May 31 for St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children’s 10th Annual Walk to raise funds and awareness for children with special needs. The event raised close to $75,000 to support St. Mary’s Kids and was led by six St. Mary’s Grand Marshals – Nicholas, Penelope, Raul, Anthony, Brendan, and Valentin.

The event united community leaders, local businesses, patients, families and friends as they walked to support a worthy cause. Special thanks to our amazing sponsors: Turner Construction, Astoria Bank, Farinella, Kitchen Kitties, Royal Waste, Applebee’s (New Hyde Park) and Panera (Bayside).

Our next walk is scheduled for May 22, 2016. Visit our Facebook page to view photos from the event»

In The News:
Neuro-Rehab

Kael nuero rehab

More than 20 years ago St. Mary’s opened the city’s first certified Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) program for children.  Today, St. Mary’s is pioneering a new “first” in pediatric neuro-rehabilitation, with the recently announced launch of a program of robotic-assisted therapy.

Through the generous support of the New York City Council capital budget, St. Mary’s has deployed a suite of four pieces of cutting-edge equipment for the treatment of brain and spinal cord injury.

The current results from utilizing these technologies have been remarkable for our children. So much so that it captured the attention of healthcare and technology journalists.
