Thanks for visiting my web page for the Walk for St. Mary's Kids. St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children helps improve the health and quality of life for 2,000 children with special needs and their families each day - right here in the metro New York area.
One of these special children is my daughter Penny. Penny suffers from Aicardi syndrome, a rare neurological and developmental disorder. Throughout her life, she has suffered thousands of seizures and has been hospitalized repeatedly due to complications from her disorder. At St. Mary's, her complex needs are met by a skilled and caring team of doctors, nurses, assistants, therapists, teachers, and social workers. The team at St. Mary's makes sure that all of her needs are met, from feeding, bathing, and administering medications to playing her favorite music, taking her to the pool for aqua therapy, or making sure that her menorah was lit on Hanukah. We are extremely grateful for all of it.
