Unprecedented Times!
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for visiting my web page for the Walk for St. Mary's Kids. Most of you have received an email each year from me asking for any support you can give, either through a donation or simply sharing with others about the amazing care children receive at St. Mary's. I continure to participate in fundraising, in many forms, for this organization because I have witnessed, since 2004, how all funds raised have gone directly to clinical programs and family support in ways that surprise everyone who comes through our doors. I am truly in awe of the support we continue to receive that has allowed us to bring in new advances, which are not covered by healthcare dollars, to give vulnerable children every resource to maximize their potential and improve their quality of life.
This year the resilience of our children and their families, as well as the creativity and flexibility of our teams were put to the test. Responding to threats of viruses and the consequences of social isolation, medical trauma and man uncertain future is, unfortunately, nothing new. What is new is having to navigate these challenges with many hospitalized children separated from their families, community children that can only participate in remote services and a families having to stay strong about uncertainties not related to their child's health but to the world around us.
Now more than ever, our dedicated staff and wonderful programs need your support to employ advanced technologies to deliver services, keep families connected to their children, medical teams and each other, and to continue to innovate and keep our children safe from the threat of Pandemic. Anything you can contribute will make a huge difference and if you are not in a position to donate, you will change the world by simply sharing the story of these amazing kids and their families!
